Hola Melbourne brings you a new generation of a Latin American festival – two full weeks of interactive events where you can enjoy, learn, create, and be immersed in art, music, literature, film, and ideas.
CALL FOR ARTISTS
4DIVERSE – with support from the City of Port Phillip – announces ‘Formas de Vida’ - an art exhibition with a mission to promote cultural diversity and showcase Latin American values through visual expression.
We now call for Australian-based Latin American artists to participate in the ‘Formas de Vida’ group art Exhibition, as a part of the Hola Melbourne! Festival of Latin American Culture and Ideas St Kilda 2019.
Latin American artists based in Australia are called to present their visions, perspectives, and experiences relating to the complex theme of ‘global environment’. This may include the struggles for land by indigenous communities, political and community responses to climate change, the sustainable future, issues and solutions… or any artistic interpretation of the prompt!
Prizes will be awarded to participants placing first and second in the exhibition’s competition, as decided by attendees of the exhibition throughout the duration of the festival.
First prize: a 3-day Solo exhibition in 4Diverse Gallery to be held on any weekend between July 1st and October 1st 2020 as per the winner artist convenience.
Second prize: $500-voucher for art materials.
The deadline to submit the application is Sunday, 14 July 2019.
